ADMS Boxer: The electric Hero Splendor

ADMS showcased the ADMS Boxer electric bike at the 3rd Green Vehicle Expo held in Bangalore. The vehicle closely resembles the Hero Splendor and looks much like an electric kit conversion job. For starters, the engine space is occupied by a stylised enclosure that houses powertrain components. This gives the bike pseudo faired look. However, the tank and rear plastic cowl at the pillion side seat base seem to have come from a different bike.

The instrumentation from the rider’s point of view too looks like carry-forward equipment, and the fuel gauge has now been replaced with a battery level indicator. The handlebar, too is shaped a little different and comes with a matte black treatment. The graphics have been refreshed inside the dials. The mid section seems to be devoid of any openings and suggests that the battery pack is likely to be fixed rather than a removable or swappable unit. The charging socket has been placed where the fuel filler cap once used to reside.

Other details include a claimed range of about 140km on a single charge. The vehicle will use a hub-mounted motor and will feature a lithium-ion battery pack to draw power from. It is also likely that the Boxer would support riding modes and reverse assist mode. There has, however been no indication at a launch timeline, detailed specifications or price.
