Highlights
  • HMD Arrow is the first self-branded phone from HMD to launch in India.
  • The handset will not be a rebrand of the Pulse series but a new model with a different design, improved cameras and more.
  • HMD Arrow’s launch date is yet to be revealed.

HMD Arrow is the name of the brand’s first phone in India. This will come after the HMD Pulse series and Vibe (exclusive for the US market). The company recently confirmed the name of the phone via the Rajasthan Royals IPL team’s post on X (formerly Twitter), following a partnership announcement. We now know more details of the phone.

HMD Arrow India launch

  • HMD Arrow will be the name of the brand’s first phone in India. The company also confirmed the launch will happen in the country in the next few weeks. However, an exact date is yet to be revealed.
  • While it was initially believed the HMD Arrow would be a rebrand of the HMD Pulse in a new colourway, the phone will be a brand new model.
  • The HMD Arrow is said to offer a fresh new design, upgraded specifications, 5G support, a new chipset, and better optics, according to a report by The Mobile Indian.
  • This means the HMD Arrow will be tailor-made for the Indian market and might arrive as a new mid-range offering.
  • To recall, the HMD Pulse series came with Unisoc T606 Chipset, which only offers 4G support.
  • With Arrow, HMD aims to target the evergrowing 5G requirements of Indian consumers. The same is not the case in Europe and the US as 4G smartphones still dominate these markets.

While the pricing details of the phone are under wraps at the moment, there are speculations the HMD Arrow will cost under Rs 20,000 in India. Though there is no exact launch date, the phone might debut around the IPL finale considering the brand has an ongoing association with an IPL team (Rajasthan Royals).
