HMD has launched its first batch of branded phones under the Pulse series. The lineup includes the HMD Pulse, Pulse+, and Pulse Pro. The company is focussing on Gen 1 user repairability by allowing them to buy self-repair kits from iFixit. These repairs include battery and swapping the screen. The phones have a large 5000mAh battery, Android 14 OS, and an HD+ IPS display.

HMD Pulse series price

HMD Pulse and HMD Pulse+ specifications

The HMD Pulse and Pulse+ sport a 6.65-inch IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, 600nits peak brightness, 1612 X 720 pixels resolution, and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter. The two phones are powered by the UNISOC T606 chipset paired with Mali-G57 MP1 GPU. The phones pack up to 6GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage further expandable via a microSD card.

The phones run Android 14 OS out of the box and the company is promising 2 years of OS updates and three years of security patches. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port, GPS/AGPS/Galileo, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

In terms of cameras, the HMD Pulse features a 13MP primary camera with AF dual LED flash and Super Night and a secondary depth shooter. While the HMD Pulse+ has a 50MP primary camera and a secondary sensor. Both phones feature an 8MP shooter for selfies and video chats.

The HMD Pulse and Pulse+ pack a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, OZO audio, an IP52 rating, and a single speaker.
