HMD smartphone launch in India
HMD India on X shared a teaser announcing the launch of its smartphone in India. The brand said it will reveal the name of the first HMD smartphone in India on April 29th. So by early next week, we’ll know which device is coming here.
There’s no clue which HMD smartphone will launch here but we can assume it would be one of the four recently launched devices. The lineup includes HMD Pulse and Pulse Pro launched in Europe and HMD Vibe launched in the US. All four phones sit in the budget segment with a starting price of around Rs 12,500.
HMD Vibe specifications
HMD Vibe features a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It sports a 13MP primary camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 5MP selfie camera. The phone also has a 4000mAh battery with 10W charging support. It also has an IP52 rating for dust and spill resistance.
HMD Pulse, Pulse+ specifications
The HMD Pulse and Pulse+ share similar specifications starting with a 6.65-inch LCD 90Hz display display. The two phones are powered by the UNISOC T606 chipset paired with Mali-G57 MP1 GPU, up to 6GB RAM, and up to 256GB onboard storage. These phones also come with self-repairing kits.
The HMD Pulse and Pulse+ run Android 14 OS out of the box with two years of OS updates and three years of security patches. The camera bit is slightly different with the HMD Pulse featuring a 13MP primary camera and a secondary depth sensor. The HMD Pulse+ has a 50MP primary camera and a secondary sensor. Both phones feature the same 8MP front camera for selfies. The HMD Pulse and Pulse+ also pack the same 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.
HMD Pulse Pro specifications
The HMD Pulse Pro comes with a 6.56-inch HD+ display, the UNISOC T606 SoC, 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage. It runs Android 14 with two years of Android updates and three years of security patches. The smartphone features a 50MP primary camera and a secondary sensor. It has a 50MP camera on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery but with 20W fast charging support.
