Instagram Notes feature not showing? Here’s how you can get it

With Instagram Notes, users can share their thoughts and updates about anything that happens during their daily routine. It also acts as a great way to connect with others and get conversations started. However, since it’s a relatively new feature, Instagram has not yet rolled it out for every account out there.

So, if you’re keen on using notes and haven’t got notes, we have listed down several methods you can carry out for the feature to show up in your app. These include updating the app, switching to a professional account, checking activity status, and more.

7 ways to get notes feature on Instagram

  • Open Play Store on your phone
  • Tap the profile icon from the top
    Update Instagram to get Notes

At times you may need to log out from the Instagram app and log in again for new features to show up. Follow these steps for the same:

  • Open Instagram on your mobile phone
  • Tap the profile icon at the bottom and select Settings and privacy
  • Now scroll down all the way down
  • Tap Log out
    Log out from Instagram
  • Now log in with the same account and you’re done!

Still didn’t receive notes? Try out the methods below.

Check Notes availability in your region

If Notes aren’t available for you, ask your friends whether the feature is present on their Instagram app or not. It can be likely that IG hasn’t rolled out Notes in your region if most people have not received it.

Switch to professional account

There can be instances where an Instagram profile fetches new features such as notes only when it is converted to a professional account. While it doesn’t guarantee getting notes feature, it’s still worth a shot. Here’s how you can switch to a professional account on IG if currently you’re using a personal account:

  • Open Instagram
  • Tap the profile icon at the bottom and select the 3-line menu
  • From here select Settings and privacy
Switch to professional IG account for Notes
  • Now scroll down all the way down
  • Select Account type and tools from the list
Switch to professional IG account for Notes
  • Tap the topmost option, Switch to professional account
Switch to professional IG account for Notes
  • Choose and select the appropriate category
Switch to professional IG account for Notes
  • Hit Done
  • Lastly, give confirmation by tapping OK
Switch to professional IG account for Notes

This will convert your profile to a professional one and will also bring along additional bonuses such as profile analytics, post scheduler, and more. If you do not get Notes even in professional mode, you can switch back to a personal profile by following the same steps.

Check Activity status

Checking Activity status is another feature you can try if the notes feature is not yet available for you yet. While it doesn’t have any correlation with notes, you can still give it a try since both features are part of Direct Messages (DM) and could be the reason for the unavailability and other users’ notes not showing up.

To check the Activity status, all you got to do is:

  • Open Instagram
  • Tap the profile icon at the bottom and select Settings and privacy
    Check Activity status for Notes
  • Now scroll down all the way down
  • Select Messages and story replies from the list
    Check Activity status for Notes
  • Now tap Show activity status
    Check Activity status for Notes

  • Turn the toggle on and also turn on the second option to be on the safer side
    Check Activity status for Notes

Reinstall Instagram

If Instagram notes do not show up even after going through tons of different methods, you can try and reinstall the app from your phone.

  • Simply go to your phone’s homescreen
  • Locate the Instagram icon
  • Now press and hold Instagram until the Uninstall option appears
    Uninstall Instagram
  • Select the option and the app will be removed

Now head over to Google Play Store or App Store, depending on your device and download Instagram. Once installed, log in with your credentials.

Contact Instagram support

At last, if nothing works out, all you can do is contact Instagram’s support team and enquire about the availability of Instagram notes for your account.

  • Go to the Profile section and tap the 3-line icon
    Contact Instagrm support for Notes
  • Select Settings and privacy
    Contact Instagrm support for Notes
  • Scroll down to Help option
    Contact Instagrm support for Notes
  • Now select Report a problem

  • Hit Send when done
