If you’re bored with the contemporary metal- or plastic-clad construction of the laptops these days, then the HP’s new Spectre Folio notebook might just be for you. The ultra-thin convertible laptop sports a premium leather body on the outside with a metal frame in the middle. There’s also a near bezel-less display, which can offer an immersive viewing experience while using the laptop in the tablet mode.
Coming to the specifications, the HP Spectre Folio 2-in 1 is packed with Intel’s latest 1W panel, which is said to maximise battery life. The screen measures 13.3-inch diagonally and bears a full HD resolution. The company claims that the Spectre Folio is industry’s first laptop to come with 8th-generation Y-series Intel CPU, which benefits from a fan-less design. The device is driven by either Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, aided by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage.
While there’s no word on the battery cell within the laptop, the brand touts that it can hold up to 18 hours on moderate to heavy usage. The HP Spectre Folio 2-in-1 boots Windows 10 OS out of the box. Other features include LTE support (optional), three USB Type-C ports, and wireless connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The Spectre Folio will be available for pre-orders on HP and Best Buy’s websites starting today. As for the pricing, the Core i5 variant of the Spectre Folio has been priced at $1,299 (~Rs 95,000), while the top-end and i7 model with LTE will set you back to $1,499 (~ Rs 1,09,900). Notably, only the “Cognac Brown” colour option of the Folio will be available in the first few sales. the company is expected to launch a “Bordeux Burgundy” colour option in late December, and that’s also when you can expect the 4K screen option with the laptop.
