Huawei Mate X2 foldable phone tipped to launch in Q3 2020

“Huawei Mate X2 foldable phone’s design is said to be similar to that of Galaxy Fold, meaning it would infold inwards but not outwards”

Huawei Mate X is the company’s first-ever foldable phone that was launched earlier this year in February. Though the release was delayed, it is finally on sale in China. Not stopping there, the company seems to be already said to be working on a revamped version of the Mate X, dubbed as the Huawei Mate Xs with Kirin 990 5G SoC, better hinge design and reinforced screen glass. It is expected to launch the same in March 2020. Apart from this, the Chinese maker is tipped to announce the Huawei Mate X2 in Q3 2020, according to a Twitter user RODENT950. It is said to have a design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold, meaning it would infold inwards and not outwards. It is expected to have a full-sized smartphone screen and a smaller screen on the other side for selfies and quick access to notifications.

Furthermore, the Huawei Mate X2 could come with the Kirin 1000 SoC that is likely to be unveiled at the IFA show in the second half of 2020. It could have a smaller footprint compared to the Mate X and should fit in pockets easily. Unfortunately, nothing much can be said about the Mate X2 foldable phone at the moment. Though Huawei has been applying for different patent designs, we would never know the actual design it will be using for the Mate X2 foldable phone until something concrete surfaces the internet as we inch closer to its launch.
