Infinix Note 40 5G specifications

The Infinix Note 40 5G sports a 6.78-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED LTPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 93.60 percent, 1080 X 2436 pixels resolution, low blue light filter, 1300nits peak brightness, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1.07 billion colour depth, DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, and 2160Hz PWM frequency. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 6nm processor paired with IMG BXM-8-256 GPU.

The phone packs 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The Infinix model runs on Android 14-based XOS 14 custom skin out of the box. The Note 40 features a 108MP primary camera with OIS and f/1.75 aperture and dual 2MP sensors. The handset has a 32MP front camera for selfies and video chats.

The Infinix Note 40 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with 33W wired fast charging. The phone is equipped with dual speakers with Sound by JBL, an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, X-Axis Motor, and an IP53 rating for water and dust resistance.

The phone is compatible with the MagKit, which includes a magnetic case, which allows the 15W wireless charger to snap to the back of the phone. Infinix is also having a small 3,000mAh external battery pack for the same purpose. Infinix Note 40 5G ships with the in-house Cheetah X1 power management chip to monitor the battery temperature and voltages. This will allow fast and safe charging.

What are the upgrades?

The Infinix Note 40 5G is quite an upgrade over the Note 30 5G that is already available in India. The Note 40 5G comes with a Dimensity 7020 SoC, compared to the Dimensity 6080 SoC on the successor. This should offer some notable improvements to performance. The front camera is upgraded to 32MP from a 16MP on the predecessor.

Both the Infinix Note 40 and Note 30 come with a 5,000mAh battery but the latter offers slightly faster 45W charging speed. However, the Note 40 brings 15W wireless charging support. This is missing on the Note 30. We get an in-display fingerprint sensor, an upgrade from the side-mounted sensor. The Infinix Note 40 5G brings an Active Halo lighting design, which is a new addition.
