iOS 17.1 update to fix screen burn-in issue
- This issue appears to affect iPhone 15 Pro Max models in particular, according to complains posted on Reddit and Apple’s support forums. The images show the entire home screen on the iPhone 15 Pro Max covered with this white blur that reminds one of display issues with old TVs.
- According to one user, this happened just three weeks after purchasing the iPhone. For another user, this issue cropped up two weeks after using it. One iPhone 13 Pro Max user added saying that this issue occurred after updating to the latest software update.
- The release notes for iOS 17.1 beta update says, “Fixes an issue that may cause display image persistence.” This does suggest that the fix is for the iPhone 15 Pro Max screen burn-in issues but we’ll get a confirmation once the software update is released.
- So it looks like this is a software issue that can be fixed with the upcoming update. We’ll get a proper confirmation once iOS 17.1 has been released by Apple.
