- Apparently, the heating issue is noticed with the 65W USB PD GaN charger, as per the Android Authority report.
- However, when using a 15W USB PD charger, there is no overheating but the charging is slower than what it already is.

Charging stopped again as the iPhone 15 Pro Max was too hot 🥵 This time sitting idle at my desk, charging via USB-C. I managed to record the temperature on video (check thread) 👇 pic.twitter.com/WaWdR4NXhf

The excessive heating issue is after the initial 24 hours of setup and settling in. It is quite normal for phones to run hot when they are first set up, all the apps are initialised and signed into.
Korean YouTuber BullsLab using a thermal camera recorded high temperatures on the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max after a benchmark run. The exact place where the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s heating issue exists coincides with many user reports.
Apple hasn’t issued a statement regarding the heating issue at the moment but this could be something that can be fixed with a software update.
