Apple will be launching its next generation of iPhones, the iPhone 16 later this year around September. Camera improvements to iPhone 16 Pro this year

  • According to China news aggregator Yeux1122 (via MacRumors), Apple is considering adding new anti-reflective technology to its cameras.
  • Though iPhone cameras have come a long way in achieving close-to-real-life images and improved dynamic range, lens flare is one issue where Apple is still lagging behind Samsung and Google.
  • According to the report, the new anti-reflective technology will potentially eliminate artifacts in the images such as a halo, a burst of light, or a streak, and offer life-like images, which are close to the actual scene.

Apple iPhone 16 series is expected to include four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The recently leaked dummy units showed the design changes we might see later this year.

As said, the significant addition to all four models will be the ‘Action’ button, originally seen on the iPhone 15 Pro last year. There are talks about a new Capture button, which should work as a shortcut to trigger certain camera functions like zoom in/out, start video recording, and more.

Apple is expected to increase the display sizes of all four models while reducing bezels around the screen. The rear camera design will be a design change as well. The dual cameras will be vertically aligned and not diagonal this time. This will reportedly enable spatial video recording. The iPhone 16 series is believed to come with the new A18 chipset, probably A18 Pro for the iPhone 16 Pro models.

The Apple iPhone 16 is also tipped to house a 3,561mAh battery, the Plus model is expected to use a 4,006mAh cell. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max might feature 3,355mAh and 4,676mAh batteries, respectively.
