  • The iPhone 16 dummy images are shared on Weibo and on X (formerly Twitter) by tipster Majin Bu.
  • These images seemingly confirm some of the rumours surfacing on the internet.
  • A previous rumour claimed the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will be shrinking the bezels, thereby allowing for a bugger screen real estate, and not significantly increasing the phone’s physical size.
  • However, the dummy units show a noticeable size jump between the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro. This is evident when placed side-by-side.

This corroborates previous rumours about a jump from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches for the base Pro model and from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This will make the iPhone 16 Pro Max the biggest iPhone yet.

On the other hand, the standard non-Pro models- the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to retain the same 6.1 and 6.7-inch sizes, respectively. However, they will be getting the ‘Action Button’, which was previously limited to the Pro variants. This will replace the mute slider as it offers the option for customised shortcuts beyond silencing the phone.

In line with earlier rumours, the camera layout on the iPhone 16 has also been changed. The leaked dummy units show a vertical camera arrangement, which is a departure from the diagonal layout seen on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15. This change is expected to introduce spatial video recording capabilities to the base iPhone models.

All four iPhone 16 models show the new ‘Capture Button’ positioned below the power button on the right spine. While the complete functionality details of the button are under wraps but could offer camera functions like focusing or swipe gestures for zoom control, etc.
