The Jio AirFiber rollout plan could be announced at the upcoming Reliance AGM on August 28th.
The report adds that the company has sent test devices to select users across the country, including its employees. Sources close to this development say that Jio has begun consumer trials across locations where the 5G rollout has been completed. According to Jio's website data, 5G is available in over 6,258 cities or towns in 36 states and union territories.
In comparison, Airtel launched its Xstream AirFiber in just Delhi and Mumbai. To recall, customers opting for the service need to pay Rs 799 per month (18 percent GST extra) for the 100Mbps speed and unlimited internet plan. There is also a one-time refundable security deposit of Rs 2,500. The six-month plan costs Rs 4,435. We should know Jio Air Fiber's price and availability details next week.
