Lava Agni 4 specifications revealed ahead of India launch on November 20th
Days after officially confirming the India launch date of the Lava Agni 4, the company has now revealed the phone’s key specifications. These include details about its design, chipset, cameras, and display – all largely consistent with earlier leaks and rumours. Scheduled to debut in India on November 20th, the Lava Agni 4 will forgo the secondary display seen on its predecessor in favour of a pill-shaped camera module with an integrated LED stripe. The handset will also feature a metal unibody frame and a matte AG glass back, which Lava claims will help it stand out from the competition.
The design, which is typically found in a flagship priced above Rs 50,000, is said to complement the ultra-slim 1.7mm ‘equilateral’ bezels of the Lava Agni 4’s display. The smartphone will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 10-bit colour depth, 1.5K+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2,400 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight. While these specifications are common in sub-Rs 25,000 smartphones, the 10-bit colour-depth could make a difference for the Lava Agni 4. The feature is still a rarity in the segment and is expected to deliver noticeably crisper and more immersive visual experience than the standard 8-bit panel.

At the core of the Lava Agni 4 will lie the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 SoC paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It is the same chipset we have already seen on several mid-range smartphones, including the OnePlus Nord CE5 and Infinix GT 30 Pro, both of which have been praised for their exceptional performance. If the chipset on the Lava Agni 4 is optimised well, it is expected to bring significant improvement over its predecessor, the Lava Agni 3 (review).
In the camera department, the upcoming Lava Agni 4 will feature a dual rear setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The company has dropped the telephoto camera found on the Agni 3, which shouldn’t be a deal breaker, given that it didn’t add much practical value. To make up for it, the Agni 4 gets an upgraded 50MP front camera housed in a punch-hole cutout, promising sharper selfies and better video call quality.
Both front and rear cameras are capable of 4k @ 60fps video recording, and Lava has introduced several advanced AI scene, light, and skin tone recognition, and Dual Conversion Gain (DCG) technology, to enhance the camera system. On the software side, Lava has yet to reveal the software version on the Lava Agni 4 out of the box. Since the Agni 3 came with Android 14 pre-installed last year, we are expecting its successor to run Android 15, not the latest Android 16. Be that as it may, the OEM has promised 3 years of major OS and 4 years of security updates for the smartphone, which is more than the standard 2 + 3 years of upgrades in the segment. Moreover, the software on the Agni 4 is said to be near stock Android, which means zero bloatware experience and ads.
Other features include a customizable Action Key with over 100 shortcut combinations, as well as the integration of Gemini AI. This makes it the first smartphone within the segment to offer a dedicated button similar to what we have seen on flagships.
Lava has yet to reveal the Agni 4’s battery specifications, but rumours suggest it could pack a sizable 7,000mAh unit – putting it on par with rival offerings in the segment. The phone will feature dual speakers to enhance the multimedia experience and be available in two colour options: Phantom Black and Lunar Mist.
The Lava Agni 3 price in India will most likely be announced on the launch day. If priced competitively in the expected sub-Rs 25k segment, this could very well be the smartphone worth checking out.
