"LG is expected to introduce the V50 ThinQ's successor at its event on September 6th in Berlin"
LG has announced that it will be hosting a press event at this year's IFA on September 6th to introduce a new smartphone with multiple displays. While the company hasn't revealed the name of the device, it is expected to introduce the LG V60 ThinQ, the successor to the V50 ThinQ, which was unveiled at this year's MWC. The 8-bit style video invite for the handset suggests that just like the V50 ThinQ, the V60 ThinQ will also feature a secondary display. A separate report from Korea confirms the same, which suggests that LG will improve the usability of the detachable secondary screen of the upcoming V series handset.
Talking about the video teaser from the brand, the LG V60 ThinQ's secondary detachable screen will have a small display on the outer side as well. This screen will show time and date, and possibly notifications that you receive on the handset. The report from Korea suggests that the LG V60 ThinQ will come with an improved secondary screen than its predecessor, but there are no details what exact changes the brand will be making to the display.
The LG V60 ThinQ is expected to come with 5G connectivity, just like its predecessor. The smartphone could be equipped with Qualcomm's latest flagship Snapdragon 855+ processor and the Snapdragon X50 modem to enable support for the next-gen networks. No other details about the handset are available at the moment.
As for the LG V50 ThinQ, the smartphone arrived with a 6.4-inch OLED FullVision main display with QHD+ resolution. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, aided by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. At the rear, the device has three cameras – 16MP + 12MP + 12MP. For selfies, there's an 8MP main snapper, accompanied by a 5MP secondary camera. The other highlights of the smartphone include an IP68 rating, HDR10 support, and a 4,000mAh fast-charging battery.
