Motorola Edge 40 is expected to be the brand’s upcoming premium mid-range offering, but the phone’s launch date doesn’t seem to be in sight at the moment. Speculations are rife that it might debut in May in various markets. The handset will sit below the Motorola Edge 40 Pro that debuted in Europe recently. Now, noted tipster Evan Blass has exclusively shared the promotional photos and video of the Motorola Edge 40, showing off the entire design and colour options.

The Motorola Edge 40 has a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, curved edges, and ultra-narrow bezels. The volume rocker and power button are on the right edge. The back panel of the phone has a leather finish which gives it a premium. We see a square-module that houses dual camera sensors and an LED flash. The camera module has ’50MP OIS’ text engraved. There’s the iconic Moto dimple on the back.

The promotional images seem to be promoting the IP68 rating on the phone as there is a shot under water. The phone will be available in Viva Magenta, Nebula Green, Lunar Blue, and Eclipse Black colour options.

Display: The Motorola Edge 40 is expected to sport a 6.55-inch FHD+ pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 1200nits peak brightness.
Processor: The handset is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC but there are chances the phone could arrive with Dimensity 1100 SoC.
RAM and Storage: The Moto phone could pack up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Connectivity: Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
Battery: The Motorola Edge 40 is tipped to pack a 4,400mAh battery with 68W fast charging support and 15W wireless charging support.
Cameras: The Motorola phone will have dual cameras on the back, with a 50MP f/1.5 main camera with OIS support and a 13MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view. There is a 32MP snapper on the front.
