After launching the Moto Edge+ 2022 phone back in March 2022, the company is apparently working on a successor, the Moto Edge+ 2023. The phone has now appeared on the Google Play Console (as spotted by MySmartPrice), revealing some key details. This is also a good indication to suggest the launch might be inching close. Moto Edge+ 2023 Google Play Console

The Moto Edge+ 2023 will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC, according to the Google Play Console listing. The device is expected to come with 12GB RAM and pack an FHD+ display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter. The Moto Edge+ 2023 will run on Android 13 OS out of the box. That’s pretty much everything that is revealed via the Google Play Console listing.

To recall, the same device was also listed on the Bluetooth SIG certification, which sort of suggested the Moto X40 will be rebranded as the Moto Edge+ 2023 for the US markets and Moto Edge 40 for the global markets.

Moto Edge+ 2023 specifications (expected)

Considering the Moto Edge+ 2023 is indeed a rebrand of the Moto X40, the specifications are likely to be similar. The phone will have a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a curved screen, a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, a 165Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, DC Dimming, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, DCI-P3 colour gamut, 1300nits brightness, and 10bit colours.

Powering the phone will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with Adreno GPU for graphics. The chipset will be paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. The phone runs on Android 13 OS out of the box.

The Moto Edge+ 2023 aka Moto Edge 40 will have a 4,600mAh battery with 125W fast wired and 15W wireless charging support. As for the cameras, the Motorola Edge 40 is tipped to have triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP primary unit with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom. There is a 60MP unit on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone is equipped with a three-dimensional liquid cooling system.
