The motherboard section mentions ‘rtwo’, which could be associated with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC, which is an octa-core processor. The chipset will be aided with 11GB RAM but there could be other options at launch. The phone is likely to boot Android 13 OS out of the box.

According to the Geekbench test result, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro will come powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The device will ship with 12GB of RAM and it will run Android 13 OS out of the box. In the Geekbench test result, the phone has managed to pull off 1480 and 4889 points in the single and multi-core tests respectively. The Geekbench test result does indicate that the Motorola Edge 40 Pro will have the same hardware as that of the Chinese X40 5G variant.

Moto X40 sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a curved screen, a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, a 165Hz refresh rate, DC Dimming, HDR, and 10bit colours. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC paired with Adreno GPU, up to 12GB RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The handset runs on Android 13-based MyUX custom skin out of the box.

Moto X40 has triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP primary unit, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens. There is a 60MP unit on the front for selfies and video chats. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor for security and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

The Moto X40 packs a 4600mAh battery with 125W fast wired and 15W wireless charging support. There is also another variant of the phone that comes with a 5,000mAh battery and 68W charging. The handset measures 161.3×73.9×8.5mm and weighs 196 grams. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging.
