Highlights
  • Nokia has completed the Android 12 rollout on its existing smartphone lineup and is now working on the Android 13 update.
  • As many as eight Nokia smartphones are eligible for Android 13 upgrade.
  • The latest list of eligible models includes Nokia XR20 5G, G50 5G, G11 Plus, X20 5G, and X10 5G.

Nokia has announced a list of smartphones eligible for the Android 13 update. Nokia XR20 5G, Nokia G50 5G, Nokia G11 Plus, Nokia X20 5G, and Nokia X10 5G will be the first ones to receive the update. The company has also confirmed that it has completed migration to Android 12 and those smartphones which haven’t been received yet will not be receiving the OS in the future. Nokia’s focus is now on updating its existing smartphone assortment to Android 13 as soon as possible.

News outlet ‘IT Home’ has spotted the Nokia XR20 5G (review), Nokia G50 5G, Nokia G11 Plus, Nokia X20 5G, and Nokia X10 5G on Google’s Android Enterprise recommended device list with the Android 13 AER (Android Enterprise recommended) system certification version. It is safe to assume that models will receive Android 13 in the upcoming months since these models are appearing in the database with a valid Android 13 AER.

List of Nokia smartphones eligible for Android 13 update

  • Nokia X10 5G
  • Nokia X20 5G
  • Nokia XR20 5G
  • Nokia X30 5G
  • Nokia G11 Plus
  • Nokia G50 5G
  • Nokia G60 5G

It’s also important to note that the five Nokia phones that have been confirmed to get Android 13 first satisfy the business-oriented Android Enterprise Recommended requirements, which include bulk deployment with zero-touch enrollment, prompt Android security updates (within 90 days of Google’s release), sufficient unit supply, and “consistent application experience.”

Some Nokia devices, such as the C31, G60 5G, and X30 5G smartphones that were unveiled at IFA 2022 in Berlin back in September, are missing from the list, but only because they aren’t yet available in China. These smartphones will in fact receive the Android 13 update, according to a separate confirmation from Nokia.
