Possible Nothing Phone (2a) BIS certification details

A new phone has been certified in India by the regulatory body BIS for the London-based brand. The device features model number A142, indicating that this could be the Nothing Phone (2a) we reported about earlier this week. The previous report mentioned the model number AIN142 but the slight difference could be due to regional differences or internal identifiers.

Further, a phone battery with a model number NT03 was also certified by Nothing which further points towards the existence of this device and that it might feature a different-sized battery pack than the one in the Phone (2). The device was also spotted on the IMEI database in August and last week’s leak showed that it could retain the Glyph Interface on its back panel.

If the Nothing Phone (2a) is affordable, it could come with a mid-range Snapdragon or MediaTek Dimensity processor. The phone is rumoured to come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED with a centre-aligned selfie camera but it might not be an LTPO panel that the Phone (2) features. It remains to be seen how soon this model will be unveiled as there has been no official confirmation yet.
