Nothing Phone (4a) India price to be hiked by Rs 3,000 from August 1st; base model now up almost 34 percent since launch
Nothing appears to be doubling down on higher smartphone prices in India. After revising prices at least three times in as many months, the company is now said to increase the price of the Nothing Phone (4a) by another Rs 3,000 from August 1st. If the latest revision goes through, the phone’s starting price will have climbed by Rs 11,000, or around 34 percent, since its launch in March.
The move also comes amid reports that several smartphone brands are preparing to raise prices in August, as the broader market remains under pressure to keep up with the ever-rising DRAM and NAND prices.

According to multiple tipsters, the latest increase will come into effect from tomorrow and will apply across all variants of the Nothing Phone (4a). Nothing has not confirmed the change yet, and there is no information on whether the Phone (4a) Pro will also see a price revision.

This would mark the fourth price hike for the smartphone since its debut in March. The first round of increases came in May, followed by the last revision in June ahead of the Phone (4b) launch. The Phone (4a) originally started at Rs 31,999, meaning the base variant has become Rs 11,000 more expensive in just four months without any spec upgrade.
When it launched, the Nothing Phone (4a) was a mid-ranger featuring the company’s signature transparent design and redesigned Glyph Bar with 63 LEDs. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and offers a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, a 5,400mAh battery with 50W fast charging, and Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16.
Should you buy the Nothing Phone (4a)?
While the Nothing Phone (4a)’s hardware remains unchanged, its pricing has steadily pushed it into a different competitive bracket. At a starting price of Rs 42,999, it is no longer competing with the phones it did at launch. For around Rs 2,000 more, buyers can get the OnePlus Nord 6, which offers the more powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset alongside a substantially larger 9,000mAh battery, making it a stronger choice for gaming and demanding workloads. However, in terms of cameras, the Phone (4a) is the stronger choice as it’s the only device in the segment with a 50MP telephoto camera.
Those looking for the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 platform itself have more affordable alternatives as well. The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is currently available for under Rs 30,000, while the Vivo T5 Pro costs around Rs 35,999 and pairs the same chipset with a 9,000mAh battery. The OnePlus Nord CE 6 is also priced around Rs 35,999 and combines the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 with an 8,000mAh battery and a 144Hz display.
That said, the Nothing Phone (4a) continues to offer features that remain uncommon in this segment, including its transparent design, Glyph interface and periscope telephoto camera. Buyers who specifically want those features may still find it appealing. However, if the reported August 1st price hike is on the horizon, purchasing today could be the more sensible option, particularly as Nothing has shown it is willing to revise prices multiple times within a short span.
