Nothing has rolled out a feature that will let you record phone calls discreetly. This basically means that the other person on the call will not be aware that the call is being recorded. As convenient as this feature seems, it’s advised to not misuse it. This feature is possible with the help of a new widget. Here’s more about the new call recording feature by Nothing.
Call recording on Nothing Phone
- Via X (formerly Twitter), Nothing co-founder Carl Pei announced the introduction of a new call recording feature.
- This feature enables discreet call recording for users of Nothing phones, including Nothing Phone (1), Nothing Phone (2), and Nothing Phone (2a).
- Users can access this feature through the new recorder widget on Nothing’s phones.
- According to the co-founder, this new feature was among the most requested features by Nothing’s users.
- Initially, call recording on Nothing’s devices required using the default recording option in the Google dialer.
- This default option alerted call participants about the ongoing recording.
As per some reports, discreet call recording, although having the potential for misuse, addresses the issue of alerting the other party during a call recording, which often defeats the purpose.
However, Pei also emphasised that this feature aims to protect users from undesirable situations. Additionally, the co-founder mentioned plans for updating the notifications panel on Nothing phones. Specific details regarding these changes were not disclosed.

On the other hand, Nothing has launched the Phone (2a) in India. The 8GB+128GB storage is priced at Rs 23,999. A variant with 8GB+256GB storage is available for Rs 25,999. Additionally, the model with 12GB+256GB storage comes with a price tag of Rs 27,999.
