The Ola S1X's design appears to be in line with other Ola offerings.
The Ola S1X's design appears to be in line with other Ola offerings but the internal battery capacity and motor will see a change in order to bring the price down. With the recent launch of the Ola S1 Air, it is quite clear that Ola is trying to establish itself as a market leader that has multiple options at every price point.
With the upcoming Ola S1X, the brand appears to be going after the known petrol alternatives like TVS Jupiter, Honda Activa, Suzuki Access 125 and others. The customer reception to Ola offerings to seems on the winning side as over 300,000 S1 Air units were booked soon after the unveiling.
It is understandable that Ola S1X will take away the limelight but Ola S1 Pro gets a design refinement. The current outgoing Ola S1 Pro models come with a Single Fork suspension on the front. While Ola claims this is quite strong and is suitable for Indian road conditions, there have been numerous cases of suspension breakage leading to accidents. To completely fix the issue, the upcoming Ola S1 Pro overhaul seems to have dual-suspension similar to the Ola S1 Air.
This is definitely a welcome change and should boost the confidence of new buyers. It remains to be seen whether existing Ola S1 Pro customers will get the option to upgrade to this new design.
