Zero Motorcycles to be developed and made in India

Hero MotoCorp and Zero Motorcycles have signed a deal, and will now co-develop EV products for India. Hero had earlier announced an equity investment of $60 million (Rs 490 crore approx). Now, the Indian two-wheeler giant will levy its expertise in scaling production, sourcing and marketing for Zero Motorcycle products.

Zero Motorcycles currently has five street bikes, namely, SR/S, SR/F, SR, S and FXE, four dual-sport machines, namely, DSR/X, DSR, DS and FX and an all-new adventure bike called DSR/X. These electric bikes are priced in the range of $13,000 (~ Rs 10.65 lakh) to US$ 24,000 (~ Rs 19.67 lakh). However, like with many other premium end products, Hero MotoCorp could help bring down the prices with tailor-made models for India, localisation and scale of production.

Hero Vida V1 Pro

Hero MotoCorp entered the Indian EV space with the introduction of the Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro electric scooters. These scooters cater to the premium scooter segment in India. The Vida V1 Pro is priced at Rs 1,25,900 (ex-showroom) and offers a claimed real-world range of 110km/charge.
