A mysterious OnePlus phone with the model number IV2201 has received the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification in India. The certification suggests the launch could be imminent but a specific timeline can’t be said for certain at the moment; nonetheless, we can expect an early 2022 launch. This is the first time this model number has appeared online, raising questions regarding which device it could be. Noted leakster Yogesh Brar tells us that this phone’s internal codename is Ivan and that it could be a Nord-branded phone. This means OnePlus Ivan is probably a successor to the Nord CE or maybe a new budget Nord offering altogether. Like you, even we’re curious to learn the handset’s official name.
Separately, the OnePlus 9 RT and Buds Z2 product pages have gone live on the company’s India website, suggesting an imminent launch. The handset is expected to launch in the country later this month and the TWS earbuds might tag along as well. The OnePlus 9 RT will arrive as a successor to the OnePlus 9R that launched alongside the OnePlus 9 series earlier this year. The OnePlus 9 RT launched in China back in October as a budget flagship offering.
