OnePlus is set to launch a new smartphone series in India on June 30th. The OnePlus N series will cater to the budget segment priced below Rs 20,000. The first smartphone from this lineup is the OnePlus N6, which will most likely sit below the Nord lineup. At present, the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite is the most affordable handset from the brand, with a starting price of Rs 22,999. It looks like the OnePlus N6 will borrow features from the Nord lineup, as the handset is confirmed to house a large battery.
OnePlus N6 battery details
Ahead of launch, OnePlus has confirmed that the N6 will pack a massive 8,000mAh battery, the same capacity found on the pricier OnePlus Nord CE 6, which starts at Rs 29,999. The company claims the handset can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge and maintain battery health for up to seven years, making longevity a key selling point.

The 8,000mAh battery would clearly make the OnePlus N6’s highlight and key-selling point, especially in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment, which doesn’t offer this capacity yet. It’s also expected to offer a balanced package of specifications for everyday use. The OnePlus N6 is confirmed to be sold through Amazon and will arrive in black and green colour options.
Design teasers reveal a flat-back design with a square camera module at the top-left corner, while the familiar OnePlus branding sits at the centre. It looks quite like the OnePlus Nord CE6. The phone also features a USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and SIM tray along the bottom edge.
The N6’s arrival is significant because it effectively creates a new entry point into the OnePlus ecosystem. Currently, the Nord CE 6 Lite is the brand’s most affordable offering, but the N series is expected to create a new buying segment altogether. It would also help expand OnePlus’s market share by acquiring the budget segment, which is a popular one in the Indian smartphone market.
There’s little information to go by, but based on the latest reveal, the OnePlus N6 could be worth considering if battery endurance is a top priority. However, users focused on camera performance, display quality, or premium features may want to compare its final specifications with devices in the Nord series before making a decision.
