According to the tweet, the launch event will commence from 07:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST). The OnePlus Nord 2 has been in the news for quite a long time. However, the brand confirmed the existence of the device only yesterday. A dedicated teaser page for the OnePlus Nord 2 has also gone live on Amazon India, suggesting that the smartphone will go on sale through the e-commerce platform. In a blog post, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said that the OnePlus Nord 2 is a “comprehensive upgrade from the first OnePlus Nord.” The upcoming phone will come with improvements in camera, performance, charging, and more. “We are confident that it delivers the dependable OnePlus fast and smooth experience you love, and lives up to the ‘Never Settle’ ethos.”

OnePlus Nord 2 specifications

OnePlus has officially confirmed that the OnePlus Nord 2 will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI processor. This chipset is not to be confused with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 that we have seen in many other smartphones. According to OnePlus, the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI will be exclusive to the OnePlus Nord 2. As the name of the SoC suggests, it has extra AI features compared to the standard version of the MediaTek Dimensity 1200.

The brand has revealed that the OnePlus Nord 2 has AI Photo Enhancement that can recognise 22 photography scenarios and automatically adjust the colour and contrast of the photos. There is also an AI Video Enhancement feature that can add HDR effect to the videos in real-time while recording. A few days ago, 91Mobiles had exclusively revealed the OnePlus Nord 2 design through high-quality renders. According to it, the OnePlus Nord will have a display with a punch-hole mounted to the top-left corner of the screen, a triple-camera setup at the rear, and a design similar to that of the OnePlus 9 smartphones.

According to the many leaks of the OnePlus Nord 2 that we have had so far, the smartphone will come with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is said to feature a 50MP main + 8MP ultrawide + 2MP monochrome camera at the rear and a 32MP camera at the front. The OnePlus Nord 2 is expected to pack a 4,500mAh battery with 30W or 65W charging speed. The smartphone will most probably ship with the Android 11 OS and it could have 5G connectivity.
