OnePlus Open should survive 100 folds a day for 10 years
Probably the one thing everyone’s curious about with foldable phones is how many times one can actually fold it till it gives out. The OnePlus Open has been tested to fold and unfold at least 400,000 times, according to tipster Max Jambor. This translates to 100 folds a day for up to 10 years. That’s quite a lot if you think about it, and great news for anyone planning to use the OnePlus Open for a few years.
This isn’t official information though, and we’ll have to wait for the launch event to see what OnePlus has to say about its foldable’s durability. But if we were to compare it to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, the OnePlus Open’s count is higher compared to the 200,000 folds Samsung promised. The OnePlus Open is also tipped to cost between Rs 1,10,000 and Rs 1,20,000 in India making it cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 5 that’s priced at Rs 1,54,999.
Another area where the OnePlus Open might one-up the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the display. A recent leak stated that the OPPO Find N3 (which could arrive globally as OnePlus Open) will feature a 7.82-inch primary display with a 2,268 × 2,440 resolution, and a pixel density of 426 PPI. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a pixel density of 426 PPI and a smaller 7.6-inch display. It would also be the highest pixel density among all foldables in the market.
This isn’t a OnePlus Open vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 article but the leaks are raising some high expectations for the former. Samsung’s foldables have already proved to be quite durable, especially in this brutal bend test of the Galaxy Z Fold 5. OnePlus will have to prove it can match up to Samsung with its upcoming foldable.
