Ranking every OnePlus phone launched in 2022: from OnePlus 9RT to OnePlus 10T

OnePlus launched as many as seven smartphones in India in 2022 alone. This is impressive considering the brand typically stuck to around four top-tier phones a year, just a few years ago. And we’re not done with 2022 yet, so we could see a couple of more devices launch before the end of the year. With the Nord brand, OnePlus has been able to offer several budget and mid-range devices. Meanwhile, premium flagships are found in the number series. We now have more options than ever before when it comes to choosing a OnePlus phone. But not every OnePlus phone released in 2022 has been a hit. There have been some terrific phones and some that are questionable.

We have ranked every OnePlus phone released so far in 2022 in order of least favourite to the best of the best. Our ranking is based on our in-house reviews for each device. Let’s take a look.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite

This is our least favourite OnePlus phone this year, but not because it is the cheapest one from the brand. Fans waited a long time for OnePlus to return to the sub-Rs 20,000 segment. But the Nord CE 2 Lite (review) did not wow us as much as we had hoped for as it lacked that punch to take on more impressive devices from Redmi and Realme that currently dominate this segment. The phone does offer some good qualities, such as an AMOLED display, 5G support, and an attractive design, but the phone is just not as well-rounded as the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus or Realme 9 SE 5G.

Pros:

  • Good design
  • Decent performance
  • Clean UI

Cons:

  • Not the best cameras
  • Not for mobile gamers
  • Lacks stereo speakers

OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G

This one offers a slightly better package compared to the Nord CE 2 Lite. It offers several nice features, such as good build quality, a capable primary camera, and 65W charging support. However, we concluded in our review that the Nord CE 2 5G does not excel in the core aspects of smartphone usage. This makes it look weaker compared to rivals like the Realme 9 Pro+ and Mi 11X.

Pros:

  • Nice looks
  • Clean UI
  • Capable primary camera

Cons:

  • Performance can’t match rivals
  • Lacks stereo speakers
  • Low-light camera performance not the best

OnePlus Nord 2T

OnePlus Nord 2T

The OnePlus Nord 2T (review) is the best Nord phone from the brand this year. The phone sits in a highly competitive sub-Rs 30,000 space, but it offers several attractive features to stand out from the crowd. Its 80W fast charging support and sharp display are among the standout features of the Nord 2T. The phone also looks appealing and offers good performance for day-to-day usage. There is very little to complain about the phone here, especially if you’re looking for a dependable device under Rs 30,000.

Pros:

  • Crisp display
  • Good design
  • 80W fast charging

Cons:

  • Mono sensor not useful
  • CPU throttles under load

OnePlus 9RT

The OnePlus 9RT (review) came at an odd time in India – it was the first phone from the brand in 2022 and was being sold alongside the older OnePlus 9. The latter just looked more compelling for Rs 2,000 more. While not a bad phone by any means, the OnePlus 9RT was too similar to the OnePlus 9. That said, if you are looking for a OnePlus phone around Rs 40,000 won’t disappoint you with its stunning display, good looks, and 65W fast charging support, among other things.

Pros:

  • Stunning display
  • Excellent performer
  • Good fast charging

Cons:

  • Too similar to the OnePlus 9
  • No headphone jack
  • Average selfie camera

OnePlus 10T

The latest OnePlus flagship phone to launch in India is nearly perfect in every way. “Nearly” is the operative word here. The OnePlus 10T (review) delivers a stellar performance thanks to the blazingly fast Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset under the hood. It also gets lightning-fast 150W charging support paired with all-day battery life. However, its camera setup leaves you wanting more, especially from a phone that is priced at around Rs 50,000. The missing Alert Slider leaves a sore spot as well.

Pros:

  • Excellent performance
  • Sturdy design
  • 150W fast charging

Cons:

  • Camera system could have been better
  • No Alert Slider

OnePlus 10 Pro

OnePlus 10 Pro

If you’re looking for the most premium flagship OnePlus phone this year, the OnePlus 10 Pro (review) is for you. This device excels in several areas, leaving flagships from Samsung in the dust. It delivers a gorgeous FHD+ Fluid AMOLED 120Hz display, excellent performance thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and fast 80W wired charging support, among other things. But for a price tag of Rs 61,999, the flagship does cut a few corners, such as not offering an IP rating and not providing best-in-class cameras.

Pros:

  • Attractive design
  • Gorgeous display
  • Excellent performance

Cons:

  • No IP rating
  • Expensive

OnePlus 10R

Our pick for the best OnePlus phone so far in 2022 is the OnePlus 10R. This is because this device offers the best value for money. It is a well-rounded OnePlus phone with a good set of features and specifications at an affordable starting price of Rs 34,999. The OnePlus 10R gets is a capable performer thanks to the Dimensity 8100 chipset. It also comes with a bloatware-free software experience and fast charging speeds up to 150W (if you purchase the top-end variant). All in all, the OnePlus 10R offers the best OnePlus experience without having to pay a premium.

Pros:

  • Appealing design
  • Good performance
  • Rapid charging

Cons:

  • Camera not best in class
  • Gaming performance could have been better
