Besides smartphones and accessories, Realme and OnePlus are also in the smart TVs segment. Now, there are reports that both companies have stopped the production and sale of smart TVs in India. While the reasons for the same are not clear at the moment, industry sources claim that OnePlus and Realme have decided to quit the television category. The companies are yet to make an official announcement regarding the same.
OnePlus and Realme TVs to call it quits in India
- OnePlus and Realme will reportedly end the production and sale of their Google TV-powered smart TVs in India, according to an ET Telecom report citing industry sources.
- However, OnePlus and Realme will continue with smartphone production in the country.
- The report says that the increasing demand for streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and others has fuelled the demand for smart TVs in India.

The report comes as a surprise considering OnePlus and Realme TVs were reportedly performing well in the smart TV segment. As per Counterpoint Research study for 2022, OnePlus was among the fastest-growing smart TV brands last year. Xiaomi led India’s smart TV market in 2022.
Regardless of the claims, neither Realme nor OnePlus have not accepted or dismissed reports and one can still buy OnePlus smart TVs in India through various platforms like the OnePlus website, Amazon, Flipkart and others. We need to see what Realme and OnePlus have planned for their smart TVs segment. Even if OnePlus or Realme exited the market, we are inclined to believe they would still offer after-sale service to their TVs.
