OPPO is rumoured to launch the Reno 17 series in China next month. At the same time, there are leaks going around about the Reno 17 series’ global launch as well. Two models from the lineup are expected to launch, and these include the Reno 17F and Reno 17. There’s a Reno 17c rumoured as well, and a Reno 17 Pro would join the lineup too. Here’s what we know so far.
The OPPO Reno 17F 5G has received multiple certifications, including Thailand’s NBTC, India’s BIS, and Indonesia’s TKDN and SDPPI platforms. The smartphone carries the model number CPH3013. These certifications indicate OPPO is preparing to launch the Reno 17F 5G in these markets. The OPPO Reno 17 5G with the model number CPH2975 has also received the same certifications, confirming the duo’s imminent launch.
The Reno 17F is expected to launch with a 6.57-inch OLED display, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of onboard storage. As for the standard Reno 17, it’s tipped to feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a 7,000mAh battery, and a 50MP triple camera setup.
With the Reno 17F now certified in India, a launch in the country seems likely. However, OPPO’s previous naming strategy raises some questions. The Reno 16c launched in India, while the same phone debuted as the Reno 16F in markets such as Thailand. With the Reno 17c also tipped to launch in India, it remains to be seen how OPPO plans to position and market these devices across global markets.
Also, as far as the Reno 17 Pro is concerned, OPPO may not bring it to India, as the Reno 16 Pro didn’t launch here. This could be a way to tackle the ongoing price hikes in the market by not launching the Pro model, which would understandably cost much more than before.
The Reno 17 series is expected to debut in China next month, which should be followed by a global launch soon. Since we don’t have any concrete information yet, it’s best to wait for official details. If you are considering waiting for the Reno 17 series, we should get to know more very soon.
