The OPPO Reno 2 specifications have been officially revealed by the Chinese brand ahead of the handset’s launch in India on August 28th. While most of the OPPO Reno 2 specifications were already known thanks to the TENAA listing yesterday, we now have confirmation that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 730G processor with a dedicated NPU that supports the Ultra Dark Mode and Bokeh Mode. Apart from this, the new OPPO Reno 2 features announced today include support for 20W VOOC 3.0 fast-charging, optimisations for better network support, HDR 10 Gaming mode, among others.
In a statement to the media, OPPO said the upcoming OPPO Reno 2 will feature a 6.55-inch AMOLED Panoramic display with 20:9 aspect ratio and 93.1 screen-to-body ratio. There will be a third-generation optical fingerprint sensor embedded in the display. The front panel has a layer of Gorilla Glass 6, while the back has Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Snapdragon 730G processor will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. For gamers, the phone comes with anti-cheat extensions, 25 percent graphics, HDR10 Gaming support, Game Assistant etc.
On the battery front, the handset gets a 4,000mAh battery with 20W VOOC 3.0 fast-charging support and USB Type-C port for connectivity. Other features announced by the company include Frame Boost 2.0, Touch Boost 2.0, and Link Boost. It will come in Ocean Blue and Luminous Black colour options.
The company has not revealed details about the cameras of the OPPO Reno 2. However, the TENAA listing from yesterday has already shown the smartphone will feature 48MP + 13MP + 8MP + 2MP camera setup on the back and a 16MP selfie sensor. There will also be microSD card support up to 256GB, and 2x optical zoom. The company has previously revealed features such as the shark fin-style pop-up selfie camera module, 20x digital zoom, and 5x hybrid zoom.
