This is the first sale of POCO M2 Pro in India
The POCO M2 Pro price in India is set at Rs 13,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is available at the same price for the same RAM and storage configuration. Both the phones also come in a 6GB RAM + 128GB variant, priced at Rs 16,999. However, the POCO M2 Pro has a middle variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, which costs Rs 14,999. The M2 Pro comes in three colour options - Out of the Blue, Green and Greener, and Two Shades of Black - and will be available for sale via Flipkart with 5 percent unlimited cashback on Flipkart Axis Bank credit card and 5 percent off with Axis Bank Buzz credit card. There are also no-cost EMI plans for up to 12 months.
As for Redmi Note 9 Pro, it'll be available for purchase via Amazon.in and Mi.com in Aurora Blue, Glacier White and Interstellar Black colours. Users can avail several offers with the phone, including no-cost EMI options and double data benefits from Airtel on Rs 298 and Rs 398 recharges.

The POCO M2 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro both ship with dual-SIM support and a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) display with 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the phones have an octa-core Snapdragon 720G SoC with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. In terms of cameras, the M2 Pro and Note 9 Pro rock a quad rear camera setup that includes a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP shooter housed in the central hole-punch.
The only noticeable difference between the two phones is the fast charging solution. The POCO M2 Pro houses a 5,000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging while the Redmi Note 9 Pro, in contrast houses 5,020mAh battery and 18MP fast charging support. Software-wise, both phone run on Android 10-based MIUI 11, but the POCO M2 Pro comes with the POCO launcher, which means you get an app drawer and no ads.
Both the POCO M2 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro are solid sub-Rs 15,000 smartphones with a good-looking set of specifications. Since the phones are so alike, you're likely to get the same experience in terms of performance and cameras. However, for the same starting price, the POCO M2 Pro offers a faster 33W charging support and a MIUI software experience without ads, both of which will be appreciated by consumers.
