Nothing Phone (3) could feature an action button

  • According to the image shared by Pei, the Nothing smartphone seen here has the power button on the right side and volume keys on the left side.
  • This is the same placement on the Nothing Phone (2) and Phone (2a). But there is an additional button just below the power button. This is new, and it’s suspected to be an ‘Action’ button like the iPhone 15 series. Even the Realme 12 has a ‘Dynamic Button’.
  • These are basically shortcut buttons that you can customise to perform particular actions.
  • It’s only speculation for now but it does build one’s curiosity on what to expect from the Nothing Phone (3). The time for a Nothing Phone (2) successor is also approaching as the handset launched in July last year.

As for the redesign teased by Pei, Nothing has changed some things in the Quick Settings menu. You get a collapsed and expanded view with the Quick Settings toggle now displayed with traditional circular icons. The Wi-Fi toggle size has been reduced, a new mobile data toggle has been introduced, and the brightness slider has been moved to the bottom. It even looks thicker now. There’s also a slider to switch between Ring and Vibration modes.

As for the Nothing Phone (3), there’s no information yet but there are reports about a CMF Phone (1). This handset is said to launch as a rebadged Nothing Phone (2a). It’s expected to launch as an entry-level smartphone with a starting price of Rs 12,000.
