Realme is set to unveil the Realme 16 Pro series in India on January 6th, and prior to the launch, some information about the pricing of the new phones has leaked. The new series will consist of two models, namely the Realme 16 Pro 5G and the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G, which will be available on both Flipkart and the Realme India website.
As per tech blogger Paras Guglani, the Realme 16 Pro 5G may begin at Rs 31,999 for the 8GB+ 128GB model. There are two other variants: the 8GB + 256GB one is estimated to cost Rs 33,999, while the 12GB + 256GB may be priced at Rs 36,999.
Coming to the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G, the entry-level variant of the phone with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage would cost Rs 39,999, as per the tipster, whereas the 8GB + 256GB one will cost Rs 41,999. The most advanced 12GB + 256GB variant will cost Rs 44,999.
To put these prices in perspective, the Realme 15 Pro 5G, which arrived in July 2025, began at Rs 31,999 for 8GB + 128GB and reached up to Rs 38,999 for the highest 12GB + 512GB model. There was no Pro+ version in this line. Before that, the Realme 14 Pro+, which arrived in January 2025, was priced starting at Rs 29,999.
With time, the entry price of the Pro line has remained constant, although the top variants have increased in cost. However, with the comeback of the Pro+ variant, the top end of the price spectrum is currently close to the Rs 45,000 mark. A similar trend has been noticed across all segments where devices have become costlier over the past year due to rising memory component costs.
Turning to hardware, Realme has spilled a few beans. Both of these phones will be equipped with a 7,000mAh battery as well as a 200MP primary camera. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G will run on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, whereas the Realme 16 Pro 5G will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max processor. At these prices, the Realme 16 Pro series will compete with smartphones such as the OnePlus Nord 5, iQOO Neo 10, and the OPPO F31 Pro+. Users may need to wait and see official prices and first impressions of the devices to be able to make an assessment on whether the Realme 16 Pro series fares better.
For buyers, the choice between the two models is likely to come down to priorities rather than price alone. The Realme 16 Pro should make more sense for those who want the core experience without pushing close to Rs 40,000, especially if everyday performance and battery life matter more than chipset branding. The Realme 16 Pro+ starts to overlap with phones like the OnePlus Nord 5 and iQOO Neo 10, where buyers also get stronger performance or cleaner software. At that level, it may be worth waiting to see how Realme’s camera output and battery life hold up in real use before deciding.
