The Redmi Note 13 Pro is the middle model that is priced at around Rs 25,000, which is a segment that sees several impressive rivals, one of them being the Motorola Edge 40 Neo. In this article, we compare the Redmi Note 13 Pro with the Motorola Edge 40 Neo, which is placed in a similar segment to see how they both differ.

  • The Redmi Note 13 Pro has a centre-positioned cutout for the selfie snapper and narrow bezels around the screen. We get flat edges with no curves.
  • The volume rocker and power button are on the right edge. 
  • The USB Type-C port, speaker grille, SIM card slot, and a primary microphone are at the bottom.
  • There is a 3.5mm audio jack, speaker grille, IR blaster and a secondary microphone at the top.
  • The back panel has a square module to house triple camera sensors and an LED flash. There is a Redmi logo on the back.
  • Redmi Note 13 Pro comes in White, Purple, and Black colours.

Motorola Edge 40 Neo

  • The Motorola Edge 40 Neo has a centre-positioned cutout for the selfie snapper, curved edges and narrow bezels around the screen.

  • There is a secondary microphone at the top.
  • The back panel has a square module to house dual camera sensors and an LED flash. The Edge 40 Neo has a vegan leather back panel and this gives it a premium look.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro sports a 6.67-inch 1.5K OLED display with 2712 x 1220 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1800 nits peak brightness, 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, Dolby Vision, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection

On the other hand, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo has a 6.55-inch pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, curved edges, 1300 nits peak brightness, and HDR10+.

Takeaway: Both phones come with a premium display and high refresh rates. The Redmi offers a larger 6.67-inch screen with features like Dolby Vision support, high-frequency PWM dimming, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. On the other hand, the Motorola phone offers a higher 144Hz refresh rate and curved edges.

Redmi Note 13 Pro vs Motorola Edge 40 Neo: performance

The Redmi Note 13 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 4nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 710 GPU, while the Motorola Edge 40 Neo gets the MediaTek Dimensity 7030 processor. Both devices come with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Takeaway: We have yet to review the Redmi Note 13 Pro, so you’ll have to wait to see how well the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 performs. As for the Motorola Edge 40 Neo, the phone scored 4,40,956 points on AnTuTu, which is decent for a sub-Rs 25,000 phone. We noted in our review that the Motorola phone had throttling and overheating issues, though we didn’t face any issues with day-to-day tasks.

Redmi Note 13 Pro vs Motorola Edge 40 Neo: cameras

The Redmi Note 13 Pro features a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP3 primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. There is a large 16MP front camera for selfies and video chats. This is the same camera configuration as on the Note 13 Pro+.

On the other hand, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo has a 50MP primary camera with OIS and a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens with Macro Vision. There is a 32MP front camera for selfies and video chats.

Takeaway: The 200MP sensor with OIS on the Redmi Note 13 Pro should deliver sharper photos compared to what the 50MP sensor on the Motorola Edge 40 Neo can achieve. That said, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo’s dual camera setup is quite good, especially in good lighting conditions, based on our review.

Redmi Note 13 Pro vs Motorola Edge 40 Neo: battery, software

The Redmi Note 13 Pro packs a 5,100mAh battery with 67W fast charging. The phone runs on Android 13 OS out of the box.

On the other hand, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo has a 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging support. The Motorola phone also boots on Android 13 OS. 

Takeaway: Since both phones have almost similar battery and charging speeds, the results should be more or less the same.
