In Android devices, it is pretty simple to remove your Gmail account. You can do so without resetting your device using Gmail and the Settings app. Below is the step-by-step guide on how to remove a Gmail account using both methods. It's worth mentioning you may have to perform a step or two more, depending on the custom skin running atop Android on your device.

Using Gmail app

• First, open the Gmail app, then click on the hamburger menu on the right, scroll down and enter Settings
• In the Settings, tap the 3 dots on the upper right corner, and select Manage Accounts.
• Select the account which you want to remove, and Tap remove account.
• A confirmation message will pop up, this will remove all your data related to the account from your device. Hit Remove or Ok, if you wish to take that risk
• And that's it. You're done. The account will be removed from your device.

Using settings app

• In the Settings app, scroll down until you see accounts, tap on it.
• After that, tap on the account you want to remove, and a confirmation message will pop up, this will remove all your data related to the account from your device.
• And that's it. You're done. The account is removed from your device

How to delete Gmail Account From iPhone

Using Gmail App

• On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app.
• Tap on your profile icon and select 'Manage accounts on this device'
• The 'Remove from this device' option will appear on your next to your account
• Tap on it, then select Remove from the message that pops-up
• After this, your Gmail account will be removed from the phone

Using Safari

• On your iPhone or iPad, open the Safari app.
• Go to www.google.com.
• To remove your Gmail account, tap your profile image on the top right and select Sign-out

Using Settings app

• Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
• Look for 'Mail'

• Choose Gmail
• Now, tap on the Delete account option in red font to remove the account from the device altogether

What will happen if you remove your Gmail account from phone?

If you have an Android Phone, if you don't have even One email account on the device, you will lose access to the Play Store, the most important component of Android. You also won't be able to send emails. If you have an iOS device, you will simply lose the ability to send emails via Gmail. You can still send an email via the iCloud though

In an Android Phone,

• Go to Settings --> Apps
• There Tap on All apps/Manage Apps.
• Scroll down until you see Gmail.
