Samsung has expanded its popular mid-range A-series in India with the launch of the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G. The two smartphones aim to bring premium-like experiences to a wider audience without pushing into flagship pricing. Both phones also succeed last year’s Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36. The new Samsung phones are identical in design and specifications as well, but some clear distinctions put the Galaxy A57 as the top model and the Galaxy A37 as the affordable alternative.

The A57 skips the base 128GB variant entirely and starts at 256GB, priced at Rs 56,999. The A37, on the other hand, offers more flexibility at entry-level pricing of Rs 41,999 with a 128GB option. Check out the table below for the complete list of prices.

Galaxy A57, Galaxy A37 specs: what’s similar
Both the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 feature the same 6.7-inch FHD+ display with Vision Booster, up to 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 1,900 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass Victus+. It’s also the same 5,000mAh battery on the two phones, which Samsung claims can last for two days. This battery capacity may seem lacking among other phones, which offer 7,000mAh and even more. The handsets come with 45W fast charging support for quick top-ups.
On the software front, the Galaxy A57 and A37 both run One UI 8.5 with Android 16 out of the box. This is the latest software version available for Samsung phones. Long-term software support is another highlight as both phones are promised to get six years of updates and OS upgrades. The triple-camera setup on the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 is also similar, with one major difference, which we’ll get to later. The selfie camera is a 12MP sensor on both phones.
Galaxy A57, Galaxy A37 specs: what’s different
Now, let’s get to what differentiates the two phones. While the two share the same displays, there’s one key difference, which is a Super AMOLED+ panel on the Galaxy A57 and a Super AMOLED panel on the A37. This would result in a brighter and possibly more vibrant screen on the Galaxy A57, although the difference might be too small to tell in real-world scenarios.
The ultra-wide camera on the Galaxy A57 is 12MP, while the A37 gets an 8MP sensor. This makes the Galaxy A57 a better companion for landscapes, group shots, and travel photography. The rest of the setup is the same, with a 50MP main camera and a 5MP macro camera. This is a versatile setup, but the lack of a telephoto camera might push it back, especially considering the price segment. This would have helped with better portraits and detailed zoom shots. The phones might be better suited for casual photography.
The Galaxy A57 is powered by the new Exynos 1680 chipset with a maximum clock speed of 2.9GHz. It’s paired with the Xclipse 550 GPU, which is said to deliver 15 percent better performance than the Exynos 1580. Overall, we should see notable performance gains on the Galaxy A57. The Galaxy A37, on the other hand, features the Exynos 1480, which powers the Galaxy A55 from 2024. Since it’s an older chipset, performance might not be on par with the current phones from the same segment. We’ll still see how the Galaxy A37 fares in real-world performance.
Samsung has also improved the thermals on the Galaxy A57 and A37. Both phones are now equipped with a 3.558mm2 vapour chamber, which is the same size as the one on the Galaxy S25+. This should result in better heat dissipation while gaming and doing intensive tasks. The Galaxy A57 is also slimmer and lighter, making it more comfortable to hold over long periods
The Galaxy A57 and A37 are also said to be the slimmest models in the A series so far, measuring 6.9mm with a metal frame. Samsung has upgraded durability, too, with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

In addition to the latest software version, both phones come with features like AI-powered Object Eraser and Best Face to perfect group shots by selecting the best expressions across multiple frames. There’s also Circle to Search with Google, which now supports recognising multiple objects at once, making it easier to explore what’s in an image without switching apps.
AI Select allows users to quickly extract text or interact with content directly from the screen, and it works with multi-window drag-and-drop for smoother multitasking. Voice transcription turns recordings into text for meetings or lectures. Meanwhile, Samsung’s upgraded Bixby and Gemini integration are said to bring more natural, conversational control over the device.
Choosing between the two phones ultimately comes down to priorities. The Galaxy A57 5G is the better pick if you value a lighter design, a more capable ultra-wide camera, and a faster chipset. The Galaxy A37 5G, meanwhile, makes a strong case as an affordable alternative. It delivers most of the same core experience at what will likely be a more accessible price.
However, in comparison to rival phones, you might want to consider alternatives for faster performance, a more versatile camera setup, and bigger batteries.
