“The updated Always On Display feature brings a new calendar and customisation options”
Samsung had recently discontinued its latest flagship, the Galaxy Note7 ( first impressions), due to issues related to a faulty battery. Now the brand is focussing on selling its previous flagships, the Galaxy S7 (review) and S7 edge (review). The company already announced new offers for these phones, and is now bringing new features to these devices via software updates. The vendor has rolled out a new update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, which upgrades their Always On Display feature.
The software update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge brings the Galaxy Note7’s Always On Display, as well as the ability to customise it. Version 1.4.02 of the Always On Display of these phones replaces two of the existing calendar themes with an all-new calendar option. It brings a new digital clock, which allows you to add your own custom text signature that can be further customised with a different font or colour.
The updated Always On Display now shows your currently playing music track. There are plenty of other customisation options available in the updated version as well. You can get the latest Always On Display functionality by heading to Settings > Display > Always On Display > About Always On Display and tapping on Update.
