Samsung Galaxy SmartTag and SmartTag+, two smart tracking devices from the South Korean company, will be launched alongside Galaxy S21 series at Samsung’s Unpacked event 2021 on January 14th. Details about the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag have already been doing the rounds of the rumour mill. Now, Ishan Agarwal, who is a reliable source for tech leaks, has confirmed that there will be another variant of the upcoming smart tracking device, dubbed as Galaxy SmartTag+, as well. The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag will bear model number EI-T5300, while the SmartTag+ will come with EI-T7300 model number. Agarwal also shared the key Galaxy SmartTag features with 91mobiles. The tracker is said to automatically connect to all your Galaxy devices. You will be able to ring the phone by pressing the button twice and share the location with family and friends.
The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag will also be end-to-end encrypted and feature ‘Privacy ID’ for security. As for the dimensions, Agarwal confirms, the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag will measure 4cmx4cmx1cm and weigh 13 grams. Both the trackers are said to come in Black, Oatmeal, Denim Blue, and Mint colour options. The trackers will come in packs of two and four.
Samsung Galaxy SmartTag+ features remain unknown at the moment, but we’re expecting them to be similar to the regular SmartTag, with some additional benefits of course. The tracking devices could tout the exact same design as spotted on the NCC listing earlier this month. The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag is likely to flaunt a squarish form factor and a lanyard-shaped hole for a cord or strap. Samsung Galaxy SmartTag price, as confirmed by 91mobiles previously, could be around EUR 15 (about Rs 1,350) in Europe. That’s all the information we can divulge at the moment!
