Tata Punch EV features

Based on a new report from Autocar India, the upcoming Tata Punch EV test mule was spotted doing speeds of almost 100 kmph on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. The interiors of the car could be seen and revealed an illuminated steering wheel similar to the one in Nexon and Nexon EV facelifts. Tata first unveiled this steering wheel design its Curvv concept car and only with the Nexon it came to production vehicles.

A much larger infotainment system was also spotted in the vehicle. This could be the 10.25-inch infotainment from the mid-variants of the new Tata Nexon facelift. The Tata Punch ICE variant comes with a smaller 7-inch infotainment which too was spotted in one of the test vehicles of the Punch EV.

This could mean that the 10.25-inch screen and new steering could remain exclusive to the top variant of the upcoming EV. A sunroof still remains in question as the ICE version only recently got the option. The BS6 Tata Punch starts at Rs 6 lakh in India.

Other design tweaks in the Tata Punch EV include new LED headlamps and new alloy wheels. It is expected to feature the same Gen 2 motor from the Nexon EV and the charging port is on the front for the first time in a Tata EV.

The new EV will sit right between the Tiago EV (which starts at Rs. 8.69 Lakh in India) and the Nexon EV in Tata’s lineup while the brand is also readying more high-end EV SUVs.
