Several images of the upcoming electric car, which is said to be the Tata Punch EV were posted on Instagram by the user @b.choww aka Bhuvan Chowdhary. After taking a closer look at the images, here are the various design elements the Punch EV may incorporate:

  •  As revealed by the images, the electric variant of Tata Punch may feature a front charging slot right above the bumper, unlike most electric four-wheelers which carry the slot on the sides.
  • Speaking of which, the EV may house a similarly styled tri-arrow bumper as the company’s own Tiago EV.
  • Moving on, the car may come with a set of alloy wheels and is expected to retain the same design language as the ICE variant on the sides.
  • Coming to the interiors, the Punch EV may receive significant changes to accommodate several electric car features and functionalities such as a rotary gear dial and a large instrument cluster to display key information such as range, battery status, and more.
  • An electric sunroof could tag along as well considering Tata recently added it to the CNG variants of the car.

The Tata Punch EV may boast similar specifications and powertrain as the Tigor EV and could run on Tata’s own Ziptron framework, as revealed by Motoroctane. Taking this into consideration, the small SUV EV could pack a 26kWh battery and be paired with 73bhp motor. Since the Tigor EV comes with a claimed range of 315km, we can expect similar numbers on the upcoming Punch electric car.

Tata Punch EV launch timeline

At this point in time, the company hasn’t officially revealed any information related to Punch EV’s launch. As for the pricing, the vehicle could sit somewhere between Tata Tigor EV and Nexon EV Prime meaning it could come with a starting price tag of around Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom).
