Tata Tiago EV prices hiked: here’s how much India’s most affordable electric car costs now

Tata Tiago EV prices in India have been hiked by Rs 20,000 across all variants. With the price hike, the EV hatchback now starts at Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom). To recall, the electric car was launched back in September 2022 for an introductory price of Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for which the company had acquired 20,000 bookings. Despite the price hike, the Tata Tiago EV remains the most affordable electric car in India. It competes directly with the Citroen eC3 hatchback that was launched in India in January and the company has started taking bookings for the same.

Tata Motors had earlier announced that it will be increasing prices on the Tiago EV hatchback by up to four percent from January 2023 onwards.

According to Autocar India’s sources, the long-range models command a five to six months waiting period and the vehicle’s Tropical Mist and Teal Blue shades are the most in demand

Tata Tiago EV specifications 

The Tata Tiago EV hatchback gets an option for two battery packs, a 19.2kWh pack, and a 24kWh battery pack. The smaller battery pack is mated to a 61hp and 110Nm electric motor while the larger battery pack gets a 74hp and 114Nm electric motor which deliver an MIDC-certified range of 250km and 315km respectively. The EV supports fast charging and can be juiced up from 10 to 80 percent in 57 minutes using a 50kW fast charger.
