TVS Motor Company has plans to launch a brand new EV, and it will most likely be a new electric scooter. It is speculated that this new upcoming product could be an all-new offering with little to no resemblance to the existing TVS iQube.
TVS’ upcoming electric scooter launch date
TVS has sent out invitations for its upcoming event with the tagline, “electric-flying launch that will defy the status quo in mobility.” The event is scheduled to take place on August 23, and it will be held in Dubai. The invite also indicates that this new offering could be a sporty and stylish offering from the company and could even derive some cues from the TVS Creon concept that was showcased back at the 2018 Auto Expo.
TVS could be looking to generate the same response that it received with the iQube from its upcoming electric scooter. The TVS iQube has been successful in establishing itself as a strong contender in the ever-growing EV two-wheeler market. TVS has been able to achieve satisfactory levels of fit and finish on the iQube early on, and the electric scooter appeals to a large audience with its well-packaged performance and practical balance.
The brand could very well have been preparing such a product, especially after the delay that the most powerful TVS iQube ST with the 5kWh battery pack has been facing. With the tightening of the FAME II subsidies, EVs with larger battery packs have begun to make lesser sense as prices on such EVs become too high to justify the offering. The powertrain, range and feature details will only be available post the launch event.
