Vivo’s next-generation flagship phone, the X500 series, has been showing up in leaks and reports. The lineup is due to launch later this year, but leaks about the hardware upgrades have already surfaced online. A new leak reveals what could be the possible specifications of the Vivo X500 Pro. This handset is also speculated to be called Vivo X500 Pro Mini. Nothing is conclusive yet, but here’s what to expect from the upcoming Vivo flagship.
According to a new post by tipster Digital Chat Station, there’s a new small-screen flagship in the works with an upcoming 2nm MediaTek Dimensity chipset. This handset in question is reportedly the Vivo X500 Pro or X500 Pro Mini. This chipset could be called the Dimensity 9600 Pro, which would be MediaTek’s next-generation flagship SoC. The tipster added that there will be a Dimensity 9600, an upgraded version of the Dimensity 9500, set to power the standard Vivo X500.
The Vivo X500 Pro is said to feature a 6,500mAh-6,600mAh battery capacity, which could go up to 7,000mAh. This would be a slight upgrade over the X300 Pro, but not a major one. The reason behind this is reportedly due to the focus shifted to premium camera hardware for the X500 Pro. Speaking of which, the Vivo flagship is tipped to house a 64MP 85mm periscope telephoto lens and a large LOFIC primary sensor. These could be a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
Other leaks have also suggested that the Vivo X500 Pro will feature a compact 6.37-inch 1.5K OLED display with an LTPO panel and a 144Hz refresh rate. This would mean a different strategy for Vivo as the X300 has a large 6.78-inch display. The standard X500 is also expected to come in a compact form factor, meaning that only the rumoured X500 Pro Max could be the only large-screened one in the lineup.
Vivo is expected to launch its flagship lineup in China this September. The X500 Pro looks interesting for those who want a compact flagship with advanced cameras and a 2nm chipset. However, if a large battery capacity is a priority, then the X500 Pro may not be the right pick. It’s still too early, though, so we should wait for more concrete details.
