Highlights
  • Vivo X500 will be part of the brand’s next flagship lineup.
  • It’s tipped to launch with a 6.59-inch display.
  • The handset is also expected to feature a periscope telephoto lens.

Vivo’s next-generation flagship lineup has already started appearing in leaks. We had first spotted the Vivo X500 series on the IMEI database. This time, there could be multiple models in the lineup, including a new X500e and X500 Pro Max, joining the usual X500 and X500 Pro. While it’s still too early, tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has already leaked key specifications of what’s supposed to be the Vivo X500.

Vivo X500 specifications (expected)

DCS shared details about an upcoming phone, which is believed to be the Vivo X500. The handset is tipped to feature a 6.59-inch flat display. Although slightly larger than the X300’s 6.31-inch screen, the X500 would still be compact enough. The Vivo X500 could house a 50MP primary sensor with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and a periscope telephoto lens. This could also be the same 64MP periscope lens that’s rumoured for the X500 Pro. The present X300 is known for its versatile cameras, so its successor is also expected to offer a similar experience.

Interestingly, this leak suggests the Vivo X500 will run on the Dimensity 9500 and not the upcoming Dimensity 9600. It’s still too early to assume anything, but this could be seen as a way for Vivo to make the X500 a more affordable option since there are two Pro models slated to launch this time.

The Vivo X500 could also launch with a 7,500mAh battery, which would be a notable upgrade over the X300’s 6,040 mAh cell. The entire X500 lineup is also tipped to launch with 7,000mAh+ batteries. The X300 Pro has a 6,510mAh battery, so this would be a much-needed upgrade for Vivo’s next flagship series.

Based on the details so far, it looks like Vivo is changing the strategy for its upcoming flagship series. With an X500 Pro Max model rumoured, the X500 could now shift to a different price segment that’s more accessible. Vivo also offers a Pro Mini model as part of its flagship series, which could launch in a more compact 6.3-inch size. It’s still too early to determine anything, but the Vivo X500 could be worth waiting for if you’re on the lookout for a flagship-grade Vivo phone with versatile cameras and a large battery.
