Vivo is seemingly working on a Snapdragon 765G SoC–powered smartphone. The OEM’s upcoming handset with model number V1963A has been spotted on benchmarking platform Geekbench. The database shows the offering with Qualcomm’s latest gaming-focused mid-range chipset Snapdragon 765G ticking at its core. It’s an octa-core chipset with a base frequency of 1.80GHz; the company is using 8GB of RAM on the phone. Software-wise, the Vivo V1963A will come pre-loaded with the latest Android 10 OS, with the custom skin FunTouch OS likely running atop, out of the box.

As for the score, the Vivo V1963A nailed 2,129 points in the single-core test and 5,279 in the multi-core test. The scores are comparatively lower than the OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G smartphone’s Geekbench score; the Reno 3 5G also has Snapdragon 765G SoC under the hood. While the other details of the Vivo smartphone remain vague at the moment, Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station has claimed that it could be the upcoming S or Z-series offering.

Speaking of the S series, the vendor recently refreshed the lineup in India with the launch of Vivo S1 Pro smartphone. The handset comes with a mid-range price of Rs 19,990. It packs a unique diamond-shaped camera panel at the back and a waterdrop Super AMOLED display that offers a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio and has an in-display fingerprint sensor. Other highlights of the phone include a 4,500mAh battery with 18W Dual-Engine fast charge support, Snapdragon 665 SoC, 48MP quad-rear camera setup, 32MP front camera, and Android 9.0 Pie with FunTouch OS 9.2 skin on top. The Vivo S1 Pro price in India is Rs 19,990.
