The Vivo X500 Ultra’s global variant has appeared on an IMEI database, suggesting the flagship could launch in markets outside China. The listing reveals the global model number, while a separate entry points to a Jovi-branded version for Brazil. Here’s what the listings reveal and what they could mean for the phone’s global launch.

According to Android Treasure, the Vivo X500 Ultra has appeared on an IMEI database with the model number V2660. The listing names Vivo Mobile Communication Co Ltd as the manufacturer and confirms the X500 Ultra marketing name. A separate entry reveals a Jovi-branded version of the phone with model number J2613. Vivo uses the Jovi brand for its smartphones in Brazil, suggesting that the flagship could reach the Brazilian market as well.
These listings suggest that Vivo could launch the X500 Ultra outside China, although they do not confirm its launch date or the markets where it will be available. Earlier reports claimed that Vivo might keep the phone exclusive to China because rising memory costs could make it too expensive to sell internationally. The new listings indicate that Vivo may still be considering a wider release.
Based on an earlier leak, the Vivo X500 Ultra could feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The phone is also tipped to sport a 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED display from BOE, with a 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel could have a flat design, slim bezels, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and a battery capacity of around 7,000mAh is also being considered.
Vivo may also be testing a 200MP telephoto camera with a large 1/1.12-inch sensor. The leak also suggested that Samsung could supply the sensor, although this remains unconfirmed. For context, Vivo has used 200MP telephoto sensors in its recent Ultra flagships with a smaller 1/1.4-inch sensor format. If the larger sensor makes it to the final product, it could improve light capture and low-light telephoto photography.
Vivo has yet to confirm an India launch for the X500 Ultra, and a global variant does not guarantee its availability here either. The Vivo X300 Ultra (review) did make it to India, launching at Rs 1,59,999 for its 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. It was, however, already an expensive flagship, mainly for camera enthusiasts and professional creators.
The X500 Ultra will cost even more, potentially crossing Rs 2 lakh amid inflated memory and storage costs, although this is only an estimate. At that price, it would be a niche product, and even camera enthusiasts may find it difficult to justify when a dedicated camera and lens setup is a possible alternative for the same price. Whether the newer model will attract enough buyers in India is a difficult question to answer.
For buyers who want a powerful camera phone without spending that much, the older Vivo X300 Ultra is worth considering at its current price of Rs 1,59,999.
