Xiaomi 150W fast charging tech reportedly in the works, could come with MIX 5

As per a report by MyDrivers, the 150W fast-charging solution from Xiaomi could debut on the MIX 5 later this year. The report doesn't tell us exactly how fast the 150W charging will be compared to the existing 120W solution. We can speculate the charging time will be significantly lesser. Given how the Xiaomi MIX series packs in all the cutting-edge technology, there are chances the 150W fast charging solution may be bundled with the forthcoming Xiaomi MIX 5 lineup.

Considering that Xiaomi's 120W HyperCharge solution is claimed to charge a 4,000mAh battery in around 13 minutes, we can expect the charging time to be under 10 minutes with the upcoming 150W tech. How much impact this will have on the battery life is something that needs to be seen only when the 150W solution is made available on a commercial device. For now, it is interesting to see how crazy the charging speeds are getting on smartphones but we only wish OEMs offer durable battery units as well.
