Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 price dropped to Rs 8,999

In September last year, Xiaomi entered India’s smart home market space by launching the Mi Air Purifier 2 (review) in the country. The smart air cleaner was launched for Rs 9,999, making it one of the most affordable air purifiers in the country. Now, the company has announced a permanent price drop of Rs 1,000 on the device, making it even more affordable. The accessory is now available on Mi.com, Flipkart and Amazon at the reduced price tag of Rs 8,999. The company has dropped the price of the device at a time when the nation is in an uproar about alarming air pollution levels in the country’s capital.

For the uninitiated, the Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 is capable of effectively cleaning the air in a 23 square metre room in Just 10 minutes. The tower-shaped device takes up to just one square metre area in your bedroom or living room. The accessory features a single motor and a dual-fan design. The smart purifier can be connected to your smartphone via Wi-Fi, which allows you to test the air quality using the Mi Home app.

According to Xiaomi, the Mi Air Purifier 2 is capable of removing 99.7 percent of PM2.5 particles like dust from the AC. For the uninitiated, the PM2.5 particles are the most dangerous air pollutants linked to various breathing problems. The device can also remove pathogenic bacteria and pet hair from the air. The device is capable of producing 10,000 litres of clean air. The accessory has a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) performance of 330 m3 per hour.

The Mi Air Purifier 2 sports a HEPA filter, activated carbon filter, brushless electric motor, four independent tapered air ducts, and smart learning, which gradually learns your usage habits to automatically switch on/off when required. The companion app for the device also tells you when the air filter is due for a replacement, which costs Rs 2,499 a piece.
